Quebec’s Caribbean (Hi)stories

Since the end of the 19th century, Caribbean communities have been in Quebec and have continuously contributed to the social, political and cultural development of the province.

The project “Histoire et culture de la diaspora caribéenne au Québec: préparation d’outils éducatifs pour les intervenants jeunesse communautaires” builds from community memories and archives to trace and recount this presence through a booklet, a timeline and an accompanying activity guide. This initiative aims at engaging youth with these (hi)stories, so that they inspire them to get involved in their communities and society.

We invite you to consult the pages of this blog to learn more about the achievements of the project.
